WIRELESS CAR THEFT [REAL SECURITY FOOTAGE]
How do keyless cars work:
Keyless automobiles come with a fob that you can keep in your pocket, purse or anywhere in close proximity when going to start or open your car. The fob transmits a unique low-frequency signal to the car's computer system, which then confirms that the correct signal has been sent and this allows you to push a button on the dashboard or console to start the engine. Shutting off the engine is just as easy. Simply press the start/stop button.
What is relay theft?
Theft relay occurs when two thieves work together to break into cars which have keyless entry systems. The thieves can use equipment to capture signals emitted by certain keys which are used to start new vehicles. ... Thieves can then drive the vehicle away and quickly replace the locks and entry devices.
WHAT IS A FARADAY BAG?
Faraday bag (plural Faraday bags)
A bag made of a material that blocks electromagnetic signals, and employing special sewing techniques such as dual paired seam construction, used to hold devices such as cell phones ( Key Fobs) in order to prevent outside signals from interfering with the contents of the device.
